7-month-old baby found dead inside washroom of Peshawar’s LRH
Body handed over to social welfare department, says hospital spokesperson
PESHAWAR:
A lifeless body of a 7-month-old child was found inside a washroom of Peshawar’s Lady Reading Hospital (LRH) on Thursday.
“A 6 to 7-month-old body of a female child was found in the emergency section’s washroom," LRH spokesperson told The Express Tribune. "It was handed over to the social welfare department."
We have reported the case to police and they are investigating the matter, the spokesperson added.
Political activities, strikes banned at LRH
The incident comes two months after activists of Peshawar’s transgender community accused the LRH administration of failing to provide proper treatment to a transgender victim who eventually succumbed to bullet wounds.
The activists accused the hospital administration of failing to provide proper treatment as the victim was not even kept in the ICU even though she had been shot six times.
