Accusations: ‘PTI misled voters in the name of change’

Former minister says govt is inching towards its collapse due to inept policies

HARIPUR: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chief Imran Khan and his party MPAs have been accused of misleading the electorate through his slogan for change.

The allegations were levelled by former minister for higher education Qazi Muhammad Asad Khan.

He expressed these views while speaking at a reception hosted in by PML-N activist Jehangir Ahmed in Haripur on Monday evening.

“[Imran’s tactics] are tantamount to playing with the emotions of the people of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa,” he added. “Corruption, deterioration in law and order and discrimination in the distribution of the development budget continue unabated in the province.” About Haripur district, Qazi Muhammad Asad said PTI was running the district through a de facto minister, who was disqualified for life under Articles 62 and 63 of the Constitution.

Speaking about former communication and works minister Yousuf Ayub Khan, he said Imran has introduced “an interesting model of governance”. “A man who was de-seated and disqualified has been announcing and inaugurating development schemes,” he added.

He accused Yousuf Ayub of undermining government offices and employees for his own political motives. “Those who do not follow his instructions are being threatened and transferred to other districts and remote areas,” he said.

Qazi Muhammad Asad said engineering university project for Haripur is not being commissioned. “On the contrary, a PTI MPA and his brother are fooling the people of Haripur over the construction of a new block of Haripur University near Mang,” he said. “The project is also being funded by Austrian College of Applied Sciences.”

Asad | 8 years ago | Reply @Talha none of the above has been done in kp, but that isnt the only change, corruption has lowered immensely, kp has now the largest hospital ward for blast victims, at a time 400 patients can be treated without needing extra room or beds, but lets not make that a change, corruption was over the roof in anp government, which has dramatically decreased, only a person who actually had first hand experience with the police, trafic, wapda, or any other government sector departments that were under kp, will know how big of a change has come in Kp, people were living in Tribal era in the time of ANP alhamdulilah kp has improved for us pakhtuns/pashtuns, it still is far from excellent, but has improved

Talha | 8 years ago | Reply name one gov hospital which can treat the 3rd degree burn patient in KPK. Why is it that still most of the patients from kpk go to isb and punjab? Name one department that can be stated as corruption free. Polio. They couldn't even convince the people here to step up and eliminate the polio. Then VIP protocol? Doesn't the ministers and beuracrates enjoy vip protocol here? Name one mega project that has been started by kpk gov in kpk? P.s that bridge of peshawar doesn't count in a mega project. I hope you knew that already. What have they done to provide employment to the youth of kpk? The kpk youth emloyment program started in may 2016. That was a small initiative of kp it board. What else? Where are those 350+ dams? How many of those are constructed? What's the progress on 1 billion tree initiative? Where is the chairman of Ethisab commission? There are dozens of questions to be asked from PTI....
