GILGIT: A day after a fight between two Pakistan Peoples Party stalwarts, Gilgit-Baltistan minister Ali Madad Sher threatened to resign, saying he was being ignored over important issues, sources told The Express Tribune on Saturday.

“The education minister was enraged at being ignored regarding transfers of senior government officials in the region and he protested,” said a well placed source at the chief minister’s office. He said the angry minister threatened to resign to which the chief minister said, “Resign today … I am ready to accept it.”

The source said Gilgit-Baltistan Chief Minister Syed Mehdi Shah, who was already upset over the scuffle on Friday, which left the finance minister unconscious in the chief minister’s office, was visibly disturbed by this new episode.

Mustafa Kamal | 13 years ago | Reply With due to respect, the inept politicians of Gilgit Baltistan have been moving towards arrogant attitudes. Few week earlier, there was a bill moved to ban the use of mobile phones by youngsters. Having no centralized system of check and balance, these politicians have made a joke of the public they are representing. The minister of finance has jumped from the window to beat his opponent in the same Assembly. It is really disgustng and they must be made answerable for all their bad deeds.
