Political representatives and locals protested in Hangu on Saturday against negligence shown towards the construction of Samana Road. They alleged substandard material had been used in constructing the road. Moreover, the road had been left half-built for a year.
Participants voiced concern over the construction of the 10-kilometer-long road. They said Rs100 million had been allocated for the construction of the road from Darwezi Palosa to Darband.
According to the protesters, the authorities only worked on the project for two months and subsequently abandoned the project. “Substandard material has been used to construct the road and has inconvenienced people,” he added.
Locals slammed the local MPA and the relevant authorities for showing negligence towards the construction. They threatened to take to the streets and hold continuous protests if the government fails to take action and start the construction work.
