
A boy died while a teenage girl was injured in separate incidents in Bannu on Saturday.
In the first incident, an 11-year-old boy was crushed to death by a vehicle within the jurisdiction of Basia Khel police station in Bannu on Saturday.
A police official told The Express Tribune, the deceased has been identified as Fahad Khan.
“He was crossing the road when he was hit by a speeding truck,” he said. “Fahad died on the spot.”
The truck driver managed to flee the site after the accident. The police have registered a case against the incident and investigation is under way.
Separately, a teenage girl was injured after she was accidentally shot within the jurisdiction of Cantt police station.
According to a police official, she has been identified as 15-year-old Mehwish.
“She was playing with her father’s pistol and accidentally pulled the trigger,” he said.
According to the official, Mehwish’s family members rushed her to District Headquarters Hospital Bannu.
“She is in stable condition,” he said. “The police have registered an FIR.”
