KARACHI:
Three days after landing into jail in a terror facilitation case, the Pak Sarzameen Party (PSP) president, Anis Kaimkhani, was arrested on Friday in another case pertaining to attempted murder and rioting, registered in Hyderabad.

The Hyderabad police official, Khalid Bhugio, told the anti-terrorism court-II that the PSP leader was absconding in the case for the past 22 years. The case was lodged against him on the complaint of a bus driver in 1994. The complainant maintained that along with his accomplices Kaimkhani opened fire at his vehicle and set it ablaze.

The case was lingering in a Hyderabad court after the persons nominated in it were declared proclaimed offenders in 1999, the IO said, adding that with the formal arrest of Kaimkhani it will be reopened again. The judge directed the Central Jail officials to hand over the custody of the PSP leader to Hyderabad police after proper verification.
