SHABQADAR:

Students have condemned the action of Fata agency as the agency has not given scholarship to students this year. Tribal students studying on the Fata domicile in various colleges and universities across the country have been deprived of their right to scholarships, Bajaur Student Organisation President Fazal Rehman said. The scholarship was awarded from the agency political administration’s funds to students from Fata. However, the scholarship was stopped this year. Rehman said amounts were not paid this year to students of Fata. In the past, authorities were paying Rs4,000 to college students and Rs5,000 to university students every year. “This is discrimination against Fata students,” Rehman added. He said people of Fata suffered greatly due to militancy in recent years and even their per capita income had decreased, making it difficult to pay fees.
