KARACHI: With the blessings of Arth maker Mahesh Bhatt, work on actor-director Shaan Shahid’s Arth 2 is well under way.

The latest from the sets is that Fuzon front man Imran Momina, commonly known as Emu, is set to make his acting debut with the film. Talking to The Express Tribune, the musician-producer said Shaan had long been asking him to do this and despite being reluctant about acting, he went ahead with the plan for his friend. “I am playing the role of Shaan’s close friend and colleague who has a very positive impact on his life. The two have fun all the time,” he said. Emu said since the film is a musical, he could not say no to it. “There are stars like Humaima Malick and Mohib Mirza in the film. My role is small but it is fun and important.”

Alongside singer Ustad Rahat Fateh Ali Khan and Shaan, he is currently busy shooting the video of the song Murshid Ji which is part of the Arth 2 soundtrack. “The song comes at a very important point of the story,” he mentioned. However, Emu has not lent his musical talents to the film and the soundtrack, including Murshid Ji, has been pieced together by music director Sahir Ali Bagga.
