Tremors felt in Lahore, adjoining areas

Earthquake also shook residents in North India

Strong tremors were felt across Lahore and adjoining areas Sunday afternoon.

The quake hit many areas, including Nankana Sahib, Kasur, and Sheikhpura, among others.

The quake measured 4.4 on the Richter scale with a focal depth of 10 kilometres according to the MET Department, according to Express News.

Following the jolts, residents of the city came out of their houses and buildings in panic.

The earthquake also shook residents in North India, especially Amritsar.

According to The Financial Express, tremors were felt in India within hours of an earthquake measuring 4.7 on the Richter scale hit Surat district in Gujarat Sunday morning.

Earlier in April, at least five people were killed and many others injured in Pakistan as an earthquake with a magnitude of 6.6 struck South Asia.
