Modernisation: ‘3D printing must for industrial progress’

KARACHI: 3D printing technology has become a must for industrial progress and the government should take solid and urgent steps to promote this technology in Pakistan, says the Union of Small and Medium Enterprises (UNISAME). The UNISAME has proposed to the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority (SMEDA) to set up an institute of Printing and Packaging Technology (IP&PT) for the benefit of the sector to educate them in the latest 3D printing also known as additive printing. UNISAME President Zulfikar Thaver said SMEDA needs to set up the IP&PT and introduce the three dimensional printing technology to the sector to meet global challenges for their package designing and attractive packing.
