ISLAMABAD: Islamabad Police have arrested three narcotics smugglers and recovered 11 kilogramme of heroin from them during checking at Sangjani near GT road.

Superintendent Police (Saddar Zone) Bilal Zafar Sheikh and ASP (Saddar Circle) Umer Khan constituted a special team for checking on GT Road to arrest the drug pushers.

This team headed by SHO Tarnol Police Station Inspector Jamshed Khan including Sub-Inspector Muhammad Khan, ASI Muhammad Wajid, Muhmmad Nawaz, Umer Daraz and others started  checking, and intercepted a white-coloured Suzuki Alto car (IDM-9996).

The car occupants allegedly tried to speed away but the police team managed to stop them near D-17. They arrested three car occupants identified as Babar Hussain Shah and Wajid Hussain sons of Altaf Hussain Shah, and Shahid Hussain.

One of the car occupants Raees Khan managed to escape by taking advantage of darkness. Police was still looking for him till the time this report was sent to the press. A case has been registered the case.

Further investigation is underway and another police team has been constituted to arrest the absconder.
