MINGORA: Locals gathered at Swat Press Club on Thursday and demanded that the government immediately take action against police officials for harassing innocent civilians. Talking to the media, they said some police officials had used foul language and beat several residents of Mingora without any reason.

Talimand Khan, a resident of Kabal tehsil, said, “I was going home in my car when a police convoy headed by officer Taj Wali harassed me.” He added Wali threatened him with dire consequences when he was questioned about his behaviour. “I went to Kanju police station after the incident but none of the officials, including the DPO, paid any heed to the matter,” Khan said.
