MULTAN/ FAISALABAD:

Two sisters were shot dead by armed men in the courtyard of their uncle’s house in a Tandlianwala police precinct on Wednesday night.

Police said Nasreen Bibi, 18, and Shabana Bibi, 20, daughters of Muhammad Ashraf, were asleep in the courtyard of their uncle Muhammad Hussain’s house when some armed men broke into the house and shot them dead. Police said the sisters had died before they could be treated. They said the assailants had managed to flee.

Police said that they were investigating a lead about a family feud and said that the sisters might have been killed by their father’s rivals. Police have arrested two men their father has nominated in the FIR.

Police said Ayaz and Aashiq Hussain were travelling to a court in Multan to attend a hearing. They were near Dera Adda Chowk when a group of armed men stopped them and shot at them.

They were taken to Nishtar Hospital for treatment. Doctors there said that their condition was critical.
