At the somber affair, when everyone looked glum and bowed down in respect, the former US president appeared to be in a mood to party. In a video of the service which was attended by Barack and Michelle Obama, among others, Bush can be seen moving along with the music as the choir sang “The Battle Hymn of the Republic”.

While everyone on stage bowed their heads respectfully, Bush, wearing a royal blue suit, can be seen bobbing his head. Clasping his hand in quiet but abject horror was Michelle Obama.
