Gang busted: Two pickpockets remanded to police

ISLAMABAD:  

A judicial magistrate on Tuesday remanded two pickpockets into police custody for two days; a day after a gang of pickpockets was busted by the police.

Special Investigation Unit (SIU) of Islamabad Police had arrested four suspects on Monday. They were identified as Muhammad Ramzan, Babar Hussain Shah, Zahid Iqbal and Zahid Mehmood.

Police said the suspects during preliminary investigation confessed to their involvement in multiple cases of pick pocketing at Faisal Mosque, Faizabad bus stop and various other public places in Islamabad as well as in Rawalpindi, Lahore and Okara.

Police also recovered stolen mobile phones, identity cards, Rs31,000 in cash and a Mehran car from the suspects, that they allegedly used during commission of the crime.
