ISLAMABAD:

The capital police has announced to arrange a summer camp for children to improve liasoning with the local community.

The Inspector-General, Tariq Masood Yasin, said that the law enforcement agency was striving to win public confidence by strengthening its engagement with the community and promoting people-friendly policing.

He was addressing the opening ceremony of the Police Summer Camp School at Police Lines Headquarters here on Monday.

Yasin said that the Islamabad Police believed in the continuity of practices, which promoted “friendly police ecology” and it had started a summer school in 2003 to boost public image of the police.

It is the 14th summer school of the ICT Police for children of ages four to 14.

The IGP said students would be taught swimming, horse riding, gymnastics, archery and obstacle crossing by trained instructors.
