FAISALABAD:
A man shot dead his wife after accusing her of developing illicit relations with another man in the neighbourhood in Chiniot district, Punjab on Monday.

Muhammad Mansha, resident of Chak N. 237 had become suspicious of her wife Kaneez Bibi's character, said police spokesperson at Langrana police station.

Mansha got married with Kaneez a few years ago during which she gave birth to two children.

Later, the woman allegedly developed illicit relations with a youth in the locality, resulting in altercation between the couple a number of times.

The two got engaged in a heated argument  Monday morning, followed by Mansha opening fire at his wife with a 12-bore pistol, killing her instantly.


Police rushed to the scene and arrested Mansha red-handed with the weapon used in the offence.

Police later handed over body of the woman to her relatives while the investigation into the case was initiated, the spokesperson added.

On June 29, a man drugged and strangled his wife near Lahore for unknown reasons and later left a snake on her bed to confuse police about the killing.

Similarly, on June 22, a man killed his wife and another man in Kalat, Balochistan apparently to ‘avenge his honour’.

Levies officials said Muhammad Saleh first shot a man named Noroz after forcing him off a passenger van in the Nirmagh area of Kalat. Saleh then returned home and gunned down his wife, they added.
