Kashmir dispute: Jehadi outfits seek help from Pakistan

MUZAFFARABAD: Kashmiri jehadi outfits on Thursday urged Pakistan to provide military support to freedom fighters fighting in India-Administered Kashmir.

“Pakistan is constitutionally, morally and religiously bound to support mujahideen for the liberation of its jugular vein occupied by India,” chairman United Jehad Council (UJC) Syed Salhuddin said at a Kashmir solidarity conference in Muzaffarabad.

The conference was organised by Tehreek-i-Azadi Jammu Kashmir, a newly formed organisation founded by Jamaat-ud-Dawa.

Salahuddin said that the survival, security and stability of Pakistan is linked with the success of Kashmir liberation movement.

“It’s the duty of Pakistan to provide relief to the people suffering in occupied Jammu and Kashmir, besieged by 800,000 Indian troops,” he said, adding, “Pakistan should make efforts to grant access to international relief agencies to Kashmir, because the territory had been turned into a
war zone.”

He said talks with India would be a farce as India has not been ready to accept Kashmir as a disputed territory.

Former ISI chief General Hameed Gul said that jehad is the only way to defeat India in Kashmir. “India will have to quit Kashmir in two years after the withdrawal of America troops from Afghanistan, as there will be no room for India.”

Babloo | 13 years ago | Reply I wonder why does not Bangladesh want to occupy India , because its 'jugular vein' too is in India !. Anyway, Pakistan lost 1/2 its country crying after Kashmir. The Jihadi takeover of Pakistan is an off shoot of its fixation on Kashmir. If they have not learnt any lesson, then history may repeat itself, with Baluchistan as the next Bangladesh.
Prabir Acharya | 13 years ago | Reply I agree with some of above comments. Indeed leaving Kashmir would benefit us Economically, Politically and Socially. We can concentrate of a smaller border to keep away the enemies and like Bangladesh Kashmir will definitely face genocide and loot sooner or later, after the terrorists come to power. The so called Independent Kashmir is a fantasy. Nobody will be able to bring back POK from Pakistan Intestine. We can hand over our side of Kashmir (Minus Ladakh, Jammu of course) to UNO to guide them stabilize.
