Theft: Car snatcher killed in encounter
The police said that Danish succumbed to his injuries, while he was being taken to the hospital
ISLAMABAD:
The Tarnol police claimed on Sunday to have killed a man in an alleged encounter who was accused of snatching a car from a man from the limits of Golra Police Station. The police said that Babar Saleem was deprived of his car and mobile phone at gun point near Muhammadi Chowk in Golra. Saleem immediately lodged complaint with the police and a wireless message was disseminated to all the police stations and check posts. Later on, when a police party patrolling in Tarnol spotted the car and signalled the driver to stop at the check point, the driver, identified as Danish, allegedly opened fire on the police. In retaliation, the suspect was shot and injured. The police said that Danish succumbed to his injuries, while he was being taken to the hospital.
