ISLAMABAD: Inspector General of the Islamabad Police(IGP) Tariq Masood Yaseen has appreciated the security personnel and officers for ensuring elaborate security arrangements in the city during Eidul Fitr to avoid any untoward incident.

He expressed these views while addressing the police, FC and Rangers personnel, including officers, at a luncheon arranged at Police Lines in Islamabad. The event was attended by Islamabad Chief Commissioner Zulifqar Haider, AIG Special Branch Waqar Chohan, SSP Security Mir Wais Niaz, SSP Operations Sajid Kiani, SSP Headquarter Muhammad Bin Ashraf and others.

The IGP hoped that the Islamabad Police would continue its efforts to protect the lives and property of citizens, saying, “We have to move forward to improve our performance in accordance of the vision of Interior Minister Chaudhry  Nisar Ali Khan to make the capital crime free.”

The Islamabad Police, he said, would not forget its 39 martyrs who sacrificed their lives for protection of lives and property of citizens, saying the department would take care of their families and would support them through any hard times.

The IGP also directed his staff to send Eid presents to the families of martyred personnel.

Masood said the Interior Minister had supported the force in every context and it was the responsibility of the police department to make sincere efforts to fulfil the expectations of the minister and make the capital crime free.

Smaller lunches were arranged at all police stations in the city, in addition to the Rescue 15 office and Islamabad Traffic Police Headquarters in appreciation of police performance during Eid

After the Eid prayers, Operations SSP Sajid Kiani had gone to check performance at various police stations, Rescue 15 and pickets in the city and to encourage personnel on duty. Area SPs also visited pickets in their respective areas.
