Philanthropist Abdul Sattar Edhi was laid to rest in Karachi on Saturday. However, even in death, he continued to work for the welfare of the people.

Just hours after a state-funeral was held for the late philanthropist, the two corneas donated by him were successfully transplanted into two blind persons at the Sindh Institute of Urology and Transplant, Express News reported.

Edhi had pledged to donate his body organs. However, due to his long illness, his son had promised to donate only his eyes to any deserving person.

Regarding the donation, spokesperson SIUT said that the eyes donated will enable two persons regain their eyesight, with each receiving an eye of the humanitarian.

Zaidi, Iqbal Hadi | 7 years ago | Reply Dead who cannot die-Br Edhi though has not only died on Friday but buried as well on Saturday but, to me and million others I am sure, he has neither died nor will die simply because still he is serving the humanity like before and the proof is that the same day when he was buried, eye surgeons at SIUT implanted his both donated eyes to two blind people who now can see like you and me very well proves without any contradiction that due to his such like humanitarian services he will remain alive with us till dooms day. Allah bless his soul, aameen. Iqbal Hadi Zaidi / Kuwait / zaidi.formerdiplomat@hotmail.com
