A man was found dead in Hattar village, Haripur on Saturday.
A Hattar police official told journalists the incident believed it to be a case of suicide. However, evidence and information from independent sources have discredited the police’s version.
The police quoted the deceased’s family members as saying 35-year-old Ahsan had developed differences with his wife. As a result, she was living with her parents over the last few months.
He added Ahsan’s family was pressing him to persuade his wife to return, but he was reluctant.
On Friday night, all the family members, including Ahsan went to their rooms. However, locals found his body at the back of his house situated in Mohalla Narri Hattar.
Locals told the police the rope was fastened with an iron guarder inside his room. They said it was strange that the rope was fastened inside the room, but Ahsan was found hanging in the field behind his house.
