A water supply scheme was inaugurated by Governor Iqbal Zafar Jhagra during his visit to Landikotal on Saturday morning.
Speaking at a jirga, Jhagra said the scheme will be completed within a year at a cost of Rs220 million.
“It will pass from Landikotal till Landi Khana near the Pak-Afghan border at Torkham,” he said.
The governor also distributed cheques among the families who have lost their loved ones in militancy-related incidents in Jamrud, Bara, Landikotal and Torkham.
He prayed for the departed souls and expressed solidarity with the families.
“A decision regarding the formation of a committee for reforms in the Federally Administered Tribal Areas has not been taken.” Jhagra said in response to a question. “However, firm decisions regarding the tribal areas will be taken by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.”
