Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif returned home Saturday evening after spending more than a month and a half recuperating from open heart surgery in Britain.
PM Nawaz went to London on May 22, underwent an open heart surgery on May 31 and remained hospitalised till June 7.
The premier landed in Lahore in a special Boeing-777 plane of the Pakistan International Airline (PIA) as government officials and a large crowd of his supporters waited outside the airport to welcome the out-of-sight leader.
Talking to the media after his arrival, the premier advised the opposition to shun the politics of sit-ins, saying these did not provide any solution [to the political situation], Express News reported.
PM Nawaz went on to say that he is ready to face all sorts of challenges, before urging opposition parties to be of service to the country, in an apparent reference to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) street agitation in the wake of Panama leaks.
The prime minister said he thanks God for granting him health and assured the nation that he is active as before [despite the heart surgery].
Later, he left for Jati Umra, Raiwind in a helicopter where he is likely to address the media regarding the unfolding political situation in the country.

The sending of a special PIA plane had sparked protest from Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) that had demanded that the flight operation be carried out on the premier's own expense.
The visit to London took place amid heightened demands from opposition parties to conduct a thorough judicial probe of the PM Nawaz's alleged offshore wealth.

The government had asked the Chief Justice Anwar Zaheer Jamali to form a commission to probe the leaks, but the latter called for developing mutually agreed terms of reference (ToR) before the body is formed.
Subsequently, a committee comprising members of the government and the opposition was constituted to formulate the ToRs but the dialogue ended in a stalemate and failed to evolve consensus on the issue.
