11 dead as Khosas and Jatois clash

QAZI AHMAD: A clash between two prominent communities of Qazi Ahmad town, the Jatois and Khosas, left eleven people dead and several injured, including a woman and a child.

Six unidentified men opened fire at trader Sharif Jatoi’s shop on Deeran Road, where Sharif, Anwar Jatoi, Malook Jatoi, Gulzar Kunbhar and Khair Muhammad Jatoi died while workers at the shop were injured. The injured were taken to Nawabshah hospital where Maqbool Jatoi, Ashiq Jatoi and Rustam Kumbhar succumbed to their injuries. Several of the injured victims were declared to be in a critical condition.

Members of the Jatoi community came out on the streets after the incident and blocked the National Highway with the bodies. Meanwhile, the Jatois allegedly started firing in the Khosa community’s village, Shahmeer Khosa, where houses were also set ablaze. These clashes killed Qurban Khoso, Ghulam Qadir Khoso and Ali Buksh Khoso.
