Pakistan tennis ace Aisamul Haq Qureshi missed the chance to enter his career's second Grand Slam final on late Friday.

Aisam with his partner Kazakhstan's Yaroslava Shvedova were beaten 6-4, 2-6 and 7-5 by Colombia's Robert Farah and Germany's Anna-Lena Groenefeld.

The Pakistan-Kazakhstan duo came back strong in the second set but the third set saw Farah and Groenefeld take the game away from them after a well fought battle.

Aisam's and Shvedova's match statistics were better than their opponents but their luck did not favour them.

Earlier, Aisam and Shvedova beat Marcin Matkowski of Poland and Katarina Srebotnik of Slovenia on Thursday in the quarterfinal to enter the semis of 2016 Wimbledon.

The Pakistan-Kazakhstan duo downed their opponent 6-3, 3-6 and 7-5 to make it to the last-four.

This is Aisam's best Wimbledon result as he had earlier been knocked out in the quarter-final in 2010.

Meanwhile, his best career result came when he together with Indian Rohann Bopanna entered the US Open final against the Bryan Brothers and lost.
