KARACHI:
Pakistan State Oil (PSO) has said that its teams are working during Eid holidays to ensure product availability across the country. In a press release, the company said it had sufficient product available to meet consumer needs for up to 20 days. “PSO had planned product availability well ahead of time. Maximum purchases were done from the refineries and imports were planned accordingly to cater to the nation’s fuel demand,” it said. “However, due to shortage at competitor’s pumps, pressure has mounted on PSO to supply more.” PSO said it was trying its best to meet the increasing demand, especially in northern areas, where natives had arrived due to holidays. Furthermore, a vessel is expected to arrive on July 10 with 50,000 tons of petrol, which will further ease the pressure. “The country’s flagship OMC is carrying out its operations in a responsible manner to serve the nation’s fuel demand,” PSO said.
