Police encounter: Two ‘TTP militants’ killed

KARACHI: Police claimed to have killed on Thursday night two suspected terrorists, accused of working for a banned militant outfit, during an encounter on Northern Bypass. An exchange of fire between the police and the terrorists occurred when the police conducted a raid at the suspected hideout of the militants, the police said. Two militants, one of whom was identified as Rahmatullah, were killed in the shoot-out, while a policeman, Ameer Saad Khan was wounded, according to District West SSP Pir Muhammad Shah. SSP Shah said that the militants belonged to the Swat chapter of Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan and were involved in a number of bomb attacks on law enforcement agencies.
