KARACHI:
Fayyaz Ahmad Jatoi, a BS-19 officer of Pakistan Administrative Services, has been posted as the Sindh Emergency Operation Centre polio coordinator replacing Dr Usman Chachar, who established EOC in March 2015 and served at the post recently. Dr Chachar had been posted as secretary of administrative services government of Sindh a couple of months ago and was keeping the additional charge of EOC Coordinator. Jatoi held an introductory meeting with the Sindh EOC staff including team members from World Health Organization and Unicef on Tuesday. He was also briefed by EOC ‘s operations, communications/media and security teams regarding the poliovirus situation in Karachi and Northern Sindh. He reviewed the timelines of the campaigns and the arrangements being made to improve the programme delivery. Previously, Jatoi was serving as Khairpur deputy commissioner and was involved with polio eradication efforts in the district.
