ISLAMABAD:
Strongly reacting to a statement by Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, the Pakistan Peoples Party has urged the minister to present any evidence he may have and approach the courts.

“Chaudhry Nisar Ali should answer questions about corruption of his master Nawaz Sharif instead of asking questions of the PPP leadership,” Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Information Secretary Qamar Zaman Kaira said in a statement on Monday while rebutting allegations of accruing ill-gotten wealth against PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari.

Comparing Nisar’s actions to those of Goebbels, Kaira reminded the minister that the ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) had levelled similar allegations in the past and the courts have acquitted the PPP leadership.

“Interior minister will not be able to hoodwink people of Pakistan of money laundering of Nawaz Sharif and his family by levelling accusations against PPP leadership,” Kaira said in a statement, adding that the PML-N has a habit of using the judicial system against political opponents.

Chaudhry Nisar should realise that his dream of becoming the prime minister will not materialise just by levelling baseless accusations against the PPP leadership,” Kaira concluded.
