Quetta unrest: Policeman gunned down while praying inside mosque

QUETTA: Another police official was shot dead in Quetta on Monday, as the targeted killing of policemen continued unabated with the tally rising to 35 since January this year.

“Sub-Inspector Malik Mushtaq was in his last sajda of Asr prayers when three assailants barged in and shot him,” said an eyewitness at the mosque near Chaman Phatak area of the city.

According to the Civil Lines police, SI Mushtaq was currently attached with NAB Balochistan. The body was taken to Civil Hospital Quetta for an autopsy. The victim received five bullets in upper torso which caused his death, hospital sources said.
