Raising voice: LG members protest against corruption in Hangu

HANGU:

The local government representatives protested against the use of substandard material in the construction of a road and the alleged embezzlement of gas royalty funds in Hangu on Monday.

While speaking to journalists, UC nazim Ahmed Nadeem Khan, deputy nazim Muhammad Adnan and others said low quality material was used in the construction of Muslimabad Road and gas royalty funds worth millions were embezzled. They said the road was constructed at a cost of Rs54 million, but it could not even stand rainwater. The LG members added they wrote letters to the Hangu DC and other officials concerned to take notice of the matter, but to no avail.

They maintained authorities concerned were apprised of the situation several times and the DC directed the finance department to prepare an enquiry report. However, it was still pending.

They demanded authorities investigate the matter and take stern action against those involved in such actions.
