PHC summoned University of Agriculture Peshawar’s Agricultural Research Centre director general to appear in a contempt of court case.
The division bench of justices Nisar Hussain and Waqar Ahmad Seth was hearing a contempt of court notice filed by Noor Rahman and others through their counsel Amir Javed.
The lawyer told the court the petitioners were recruited on a contractual basis some 25 years ago. They ultimately filed a petition at PHC in 2006, asking to be made permanent employees.
He said in 2015, PHC allowed the petition and ordered regularisation of their services after 10 years of litigation. He said the director general was a major hurdle in the path of their regularisation and claimed there were no vacant posts.
Javed also produced a list of vacant seats before the bench after which the court issued a notice to the DG and ordered him to appear in person on July 21.
