Break: Eid holidays at varsities start today

LAHORE: Public and private universities in the City have announced holidays from today (Monday) until July 8 on account of Eidul Fitr holidays.

Higher education institutions across the province will re-open on July 11. In a statement, the Punjab University announced that the university would remain open on July 16 (Saturday) in lieu of an extra holiday on July 4, 2016.

The Lahore College for Women University (LCWU) announced that its academic and administrative offices would remain closed from July 4 to July 10 on account of Eid break. It said regular office hours would resume from July 11.

It said, however, that security and cleanliness staff would remain on duty.

The LCWU statement said that on the instructions of acting Vice Chancellor Uzma Qureshi, Eidi was distributed among the non-teaching staff of up to grade V.
