Strict action: ICT admin launches drive against overcharging by transporters

ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) administration has launched a drive against overcharging of intercity transport fares before Eidul Fitr.

Islamabad Transport Authority (ITA) Secretary Shazia Qazi on the directions of ICT deputy commissioner has constituted four special squads to check fares being charged by the transporters from passengers returning to their native cities for Eid holidays. The government has announced Eid holidays from Tuesday July 5.

Bus stand administrators have been directed to remain in field along with their inspection teams and to take strict action against overcharging and non compliance of notified fares. A special complaint cell has also been constituted in this regard.
