At least 30 people fell unconscious in Shadbagh after eating shawarma on Thursday, police said.
Police said one Shahid Butt had invited his relatives to celebrate his son’s birthday.
Death toll from poisoned sweets climbs to 33 in Punjab
They were treated to shawarma brought from a shop located at Chowk Nakhuda. At least 30 people were then taken ill. They were taken to nearby hospitals, including Kot Kawaja Saeed Hospital, police said. Doctors treating them later said they were out of danger.
