The Punjabi-dominated army and establishment need to rein in the mullahs or else the future will be lost.
ISLAMABAD: This is with reference to Alizeh Haider’s article of February 2 titled “Preaching to the converted”. What is happening in Pakistan is nothing but an outcome of the mullah-military alliance and it has resulted in the disintegration of Jinnah’s Pakistan.
The Pakhtuns are alienated from the state as their lives have been destroyed by the ‘ideological children’ of the generals and the mullahs. The Baloch are almost at the verge of separation as their leaders are kidnapped or killed by proxies acting on behalf of the establishment. The Sindhis are not faring any better, as the mainstream secular political leadership coming out of that province is either restricted or altogether eliminated. The Punjabi-dominated army and establishment need to rein in their obscurantist agents, the mullahs, or else the future will be lost.
