Barred : Polio workers attacked in Karak

The police has started search for the suspects and opened investigation

KARAK: Polio workers were fired at in Shaheedan Wazir village of Karak on Monday. “Jalal and two other gunmen opened fire at polio team members Wasim and Farooq and two Frontier Constabulary personnel and asked them to not administer drops to children,” EPI technician Muhammad Nasir told The Express Tribune. The team remained hidden in the nearby house for three hours. However, local clerics and political leaders intervened and rescued the polio team and FC personnel. Police registered a case against Jalal and others and sent a team to arrest them but they fled the site before police arrived. The police has started search for the suspects and opened investigation. However, no loss of life was reported in the incident.
