Inspired by Afridi: Ahmad Shahzad shows support for orphans

The 24-year-old hopes the event will inspire others to show support for Pakistan’s future generations

Pakistan opening batsman Ahmad Shahzad, along with his wife, Sana Ahmad, organised an event on Saturday to raise awareness about orphan children in the country.

The event included an iftar dinner and a cricket match between the spouses, with children being part of their respective teams.

The 24-year-old batsman said he hopes the event will inspire others as well to support Pakistan’s future generations.

"We all need to inspire each other to play our part in supporting the future generation of Pakistan to the best we can," the batsman tweeted.

Similarly, his wife also tweeted that she felt lucky to be a part of the lives of orphaned children.



Former Pakistan T20I skipper Shahid Afridi praised the couple’s efforts in working towards betterment of children.

Further, Shahzad thanked the former captain for his kind words as well as for providing an inspiration for philanthropic work in Pakistan.
