All within a day: Five cases of firing across Rawalpindi

RAWALPINDI: At least five people have been injured in separate firing incidents across Rawalpindi on Saturday.

The injured people, identified as Obaid Ali, Gohar Rehman, Hamid Jhangi, Muhammad Yasir and Adnan, are under treatment at the District Headquarters Hospital Rawalpindi.

In the first incident, Ali, a resident of Khayaban-e-Sir Syed, lodged a complaint with the Pirwadhai police that Raza Khan and his unidentified accomplice shot at him and his friend, Abdul Adan while they were travelling on motorcycle to bring drinking water from a nearby filter plant.

Rehman, a native of Haripur, lodged a complaint with the Westridge police that Sajid Khan, his co-worker, shot at him while he was on security duty and injured him.

Muhammad Yasir, a resident of Mandra, lodged a complaint with the local police that Muhammad Ahmed and Muhammad Hamid stabbed him with an axe and a dagger.

Meanwhile, a resident of Sadat Colony, Khyber Khan, lodged a complaint with the Wah Saddar police that unidentified armed assailants turned up at his house while they were asleep and started cursing them. They opened fire at them when they resisted. The assailants shot at his son and fled. His son suffered a bullet injury in his leg.

Adnan, a resident of Kayani Road, lodged a complaint with the local police that Raheel and Ehtesham tortured him and his wife, and Naureen, over a monetary issue. The suspected men turned up the couple’s house and beat them up with sticks and rods, injuring them seriously. The police have registered separate cases against the suspects under the relevant laws and investigation is under way.
