Opportunity knocks: ‘Suitable time to invest in K-P’

Barriers to trade between Pakistan and Indonesia must be removed

PESHAWAR: Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KPCCI) President Zulfiqar Ali Khan has said it is a suitable time to invest in various sectors of the province, especially hydel power generation. He was speaking at the KPCCI office during Indonesian Ambassador Iwan Suyudhie’s visit to the city on Saturday. Zulfiqar Ali told the ambassador peace had been restored in the province and a diverse menu of investment opportunities were being provided by the government. The government has announced special privileges for investors in the province,” he said.  He added there are a vast number of projects initiated by the government for the reconstruction of the war-torn areas and the revival of industries in the province and the tribal belt. The KPCCI president urged traders from Indonesia to invest in the province and revive the provincial economy.  The ambassador invited traders and businessmen from Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa to participate in a trade expo in Jakarta, Indonesia in October. Suyudhie vowed to boost bilateral trade between Pakistan and Indonesia. He emphasised the need to portray a soft image of K-P to attract foreign investors to the province. “Barriers to trade between Pakistan and Indonesia must be removed,” he said.
