Over Two Months: Rs70 million recovered from defaulters

The largest number of cases have been reported from Mullagori, Khyber Agency and Bannu

PESHAWAR:  

At least Rs70 million has been recovered over the past two months from consumers who defaulted on the payment of their electricity bills to Peshawar Electric Supply Company (Pesco) and Tribal Areas Electricity Supply Company (Tesco). According to a press release, the recovery was made National Accountability Bureau Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa. The document stated special teams were organised to deal with cases of “wilful defaulters of electricity bills”. The teams have been actively carrying out operations in various parts of K-P and the tribal belt. The largest number of cases have been reported from Mullagori, Khyber Agency and Bannu. At least 22,343 defaulters have been identified in the tribal belt and notices have also been issued.
