LAHORE: District and Sessions Judge Nazir Ahmed Gajana will hear on Thursday (today) an application filed by a lawyer, requesting a signed copy of a prosecution witness’s statement. Petitioner Advocate Muhammad Asif Chattha stated that the statement had not been signed by Ghulam Abbas Sial, the additional district and sessions judge concerned. He said that he had filed a bail application before Lahore High Court (LHC) for his client, Usman. “We need the statement of prosecution witness, which he had recorded before Additional District and Sessions judge Ghulam Abbas Sial. We had also cross-examined the witness when his statement was recorded, but the judge had not signed the statement,” he said. He requested the court to take action over the “misconduct” and order that a signed copy of the statement be provided.
