KARACHI: Lol Waalay is one of Karachi’s leading comedy troupes. Through their live performances in different parts of the city and rib-tickling jokes, these talented individuals have made their place in our funny bones, if not our hearts. The comedians are now all geared up to launch their next improv show live on the world’s biggest social media platform, Facebook.

Currently being promoted as “Pakistan’s first-ever online Halal Improv Comedy Show”, the performance will feature live interactions with streamers. “We usually did shows where we took suggestions from live audiences and incorporated them in our improv,” said troupe front man Akbar Chaudry. “This time, we are doing something different. We will take suggestions from live streamers on Facebook, so anyone can suggest anything. This has never been done before.”

The show will be held at Business Executive Center, Clifton on Friday.

Laughing out loud with Lol Waalay

The troupe specialises in situational comedy and at times they even involve members of the audience in acts. Lol Waalay is the brainchild of Chaudry, Sannan Wastani, Syed Muhammad Kumail, Syed Osama Sami and Zubair Tariq.

Chaudry added that things might get quirkier than usual because suggestions from live streamers can be awfully unpredictable, so the team has to be prepared for anything and everything.

The group has previously performed at various venues, such as MAD School, Pak-American Cultural Centre, and the National Academy of Performing Arts.
