LAHORE:

Justice Mehmood Maqbool Bajwa of Lahore High Court on Monday overruled the registrar office’s objection and ordered that a hearing of a petition by Pakistan Sunni Tehrek chief Sarwat Ejaz Qadri challenging a ban on his entry to the Punjab be fixed for June 22. The registrar’s office had returned the petition with the objection that the impugned notification had not been attached with it. On Monday, the petition came up for adjudication as an objection case. The judge overruled the objection. The counsel for Qadri said that in February, the Home Department had banned his client from entering the Punjab.
