People are trying to gauge whether there are any lessons for Pakistan.
KARACHI: Much is being said and written on the dramatic changes underway in Tunisia and Egypt. Understandably, people are trying to gauge whether there are any lessons for Pakistan. I would say that there clearly are some. Given that both Tunisia and Egypt are American allies and considering that the government in Pakistan is also a strong US ally, perhaps the time is now ripe for policies to be aligned in order with the wishes of the Pakistani people rather than with Washington’s dictates.
