SWABI: At least two people, including a three-year-old boy, were killed in separate incidents in Swabi.

In the first incident, a three-year-old boy was killed by his stepmother.

Speaking to The Express Tribune, SHO Ajab Khan Durrani said Seema, the deceased’s stepmother, allegedly killed her three-year-old son Aftab by strangling him with a rope. She later placed his body in a box and threw it into a well in her house.

DPO Javed Iqbal said Nawabzada, the boy’s father, registered a complaint, saying that his son had disappeared without a trace. The police began searching for the boy.

“The body was then found in a nearby canal during the operation,” he added.

The DPO said Seema was arrested. She subsequently confessed to killing Aftab with poisonous milk and later strangled his body with the rope. Her brother Sher Zameen and a relative Shahid were also arrested for facilitating her in the murder.

“Seema said she had killed Aftab as her husband used to fight with her because of him,” the police official added.

Separately, a man was stabbed to death over a dispute in Kotha, Swabi. The deceased’s brother Rehman told the police he was going home with his brother when the dispute started. During the spat, Haseeb and Sami stabbed his brother Tanveer to death and fled the site. A case was registered and investigation is under way.
