Upping the ante: Hospitals in Swabi warned of protests

The demand was put forward by general councillor Jehan Akbar

SWABI:  

A general councillor in Swabi has warned hospital of widespread protests if they fail to provide adequate facilities to patients, especially to those with disabilities.

The demand was put forward by general councillor Jehan Akbar while speaking to The Express Tribune.

“We will block Swabi-Mardan Road if issues are not resolved in hospitals at earliest disposal,” he said. “The government must assist persons with disabilities.”

According to Akbar, they must be provided at least Rs10,000 every month.

“Free education and medical treatment should be provided to them,” he said.

He added persons with disabilities are an important segment of the society must not be discriminated against.
