PCB also donated Rs1 million to the foundation with the governing council of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) giving away another Rs500,000.
“I’m happy that the PCB has collaborated with Edhi. It is a great gesture to promote a good cause internationally,” Pakistan Test captain Misbahul Haq said on the occasion. Misbah, along with ODI captain Azhar Ali and T20 skipper Sarfaraz Ahmad, also presented a signed shirt to Saad Edhi. The signed jersey sported the name ‘Edhi’ and was numbered ‘1’. The cricketers also presented Saad Edhi a signed bat from the team.
The International Cricket Council (ICC) has also allowed the PCB to go ahead with the initiative. Pakistan will play four Tests, five ODIs and a single T20I on their long tour of England.
