Allegations Police directed to not harass woman

LAHORE:  

An additional district and sessions judge directed the Liaqatabad SHO on Friday not to harass a woman with regard to a petition she had filed against her brothers-in-law regarding some property. She submitted that her husband, Muhammad Rafique, had left the country following a dispute with his brothers – Umer Din, Ghulam Rasool, Ghulam Nabi and Sultan Mahmood – over a share in a property. She said she had been living with her parents. A few days ago, she said, she had learnt that her brothers-in-law had started harvesting the crop on the disputed land. Parveen said that when she had asked them to stop the harvest, they had threatened to kill her. She said that they were now harassing her with help from local police.
